Brooks Instrument GT1000 Glass-Tube Variable-Area Flow Meter
About this part
Brooks Instrument 1024NM0A2AA2F9C00001 is a configured GT1000 Series mechanical variable-area flow meter based on the vertical-inlet/vertical-outlet 1024N model. Its ordering code specifies a size-10 borosilicate metering tube, 10-RV-64 stainless-steel float, 316 stainless-steel end fittings, Viton seals, 1/2-inch female NPT connections, a direct-reading gas scale, and ±2% full-scale accuracy. The configuration has no alarm, needle valve, factory panel-mounting option, or additional certificate requirement
Configurations vary. Verify the exact unit before choosing a replacement.

Ordering-code decoding
The manufacturer’s GT1000 ordering table decodes the complete identifier as follows.
| Position | Code | Configured meaning |
|---|---|---|
| I | 1024N | Vertical inlet and vertical outlet base model |
| II | M | Size 10, R-10M-25-3FT tube |
| III | 0 | No alarm switch or relay |
| IV | A | 10-RV-64 standard float for size 10 |
| V | 2 | 316 stainless-steel end fittings |
| VI | A | Viton O-rings |
| VII | A | Female NPT threaded connection |
| VIII | 2 | 1/2-inch connection size |
| IX | F | Right-side direct-reading gas scale |
| X | 9 | No left-side scale |
| XI | C | ±2% full-scale accuracy |
| XII | 0 | No needle valve or flow controller |
| XIII | 0 | No factory panel-mounting option |
| XIV | 0 | No special process or oxygen-service certificate |
| XV | 0 | No additional certificate requirement |
| XVI | 1 | Standard Brooks identification |
Calibration and range boundary
The ordering code establishes that this unit carries a direct-reading gas scale, but it does not encode the calibrated gas, scale units, operating pressure, operating temperature, or exact scale endpoint. Those values must be read from the installed scale and calibration markings. The published 25-SCFM air capacity is the manufacturer’s sizing-table reference for the selected R-10M-25-3FT tube and 10-RV-64 float; it should not be treated as the unit’s exact calibrated full-scale value without label confirmation.
Installation and glass-tube safety
Applicable GT1000 handling and installation requirements include:
- Mount the meter within 6 degrees of true vertical, with the inlet at the bottom and outlet at the top.
- Keep the protective sleeve over the glass tube on meter sizes 7 through 13 and fasten the meter window securely.
- Do not exceed the applicable pressure or temperature limits, and do not service the meter while it is pressurized.
- Introduce flow slowly and use upstream valving or bypass piping to prevent pressure and flow surges.
- Do not use a solenoid valve where its pressure shock could damage the glass tube.
- If liquid is isolated between closed inlet and outlet valves, drain the meter to prevent thermal-expansion damage.
Current replacement family
Brooks identifies the GT1000 as a legacy product and offers the GT1600 Series as its configurable retrofit family.
