Brooks Instrument Model 1305 Glass-Tube Variable-Area Flowmeter
About this part
1305EJ18CJ2BA is a Brooks Instrument Model 1305 O-ring-sealed glass-tube variable-area flowmeter configured for direct indication of 0–1.5 gpm water at specific gravity 1.0 and viscosity 1.0 cP. The configured meter uses a size-8 R-8M-75-1 tube, an 8-RJ-10 float, 1/2-inch female NPT vertical connections, 316 stainless-steel end fittings, Viton O-rings, aluminum side plates, and no listed accessory
Configurations vary. Verify the exact unit before choosing a replacement.

Model-code interpretation
The suffix interpretation follows the official Model 1305 code table and agrees with the independently transcribed markings of an exact-identifier unit. The legacy 1305E base revision predates the published table, whose threaded base code is 1305F; 1305F is therefore not treated as an exact alias.

Installation and safety requirements
The glass-tube construction requires the operating and service precautions stated in the Model 1305 manual.
Mount within 6 degrees of true vertical, with the inlet at the bottom and outlet at the top.
Keep the plastic protective sleeve over the glass tube and secure the meter windows before operation.
Do not exceed the pressure or temperature ratings, and avoid pressure and flow surges.
Do not service or repair the meter while it is pressurized.
For this water-calibrated configuration, the manual prohibits water service above 140°F even though the size-8 assembly has a 250°F mechanical rating.
Do not use the glass-tube meter with toxic fluids or media that react with glass, including steam, alkalis, fluorine, hydrofluoric acid, or molten metal.
Install new O-rings whenever the meter is removed for service, then have qualified personnel pressure-test it before returning it to service.
Replacement context
Brooks identifies the GT1600 Series as configurable to retrofit GT130x meters. This is a family-level migration path rather than an exact replacement designation for 1305EJ18CJ2BA; connection geometry, 1.5 gpm water calibration, wetted materials, pressure rating, and scale requirements must be matched when selecting a GT1600 configuration.
