Installation and glass-tube safety
Mount the meter within 6 degrees of true vertical, with the inlet at the bottom and the outlet at the top.
Keep the protective sleeve over the glass tube and fasten the meter windows securely.
Avoid pressure and flow surges, and do not service or repair the meter while it is pressurized.
Do not use the glass-tube meter with toxic fluids or fluids that chemically attack glass, including water above 140°F, steam, alkalis, fluorine, hydrofluoric acid, and molten metal.
Drain the meter when it is isolated in a bypass loop to prevent glass-tube breakage from thermal expansion of trapped liquid.
