Gas-Dependent Response and Safety
Convectron readings depend on gas composition. Series 275 modules are normally calibrated for nitrogen, with air providing approximately the same response. Manufacturer correction curves are required for other gases; an uncorrected reading can substantially understate actual pressure, particularly above approximately 1 Torr. Convectron gauges are not intended for flammable or explosive gases.
Sensor-Wire Test Precaution
The sensor wire can be damaged by ordinary continuity testers. The manufacturer limits test voltage to 0.1 V while the gauge is under vacuum and 2 V at atmospheric pressure; atmospheric resistance testing must also remain below 10 mA.
